On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City and runs every Saturday. It's where I list all the books I desperately want but haven't actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming. It's also an event that you can join in with too - Mr Linky is always at the ready for you to link your own 'On My Wishlist' post. If you want to know more click here.
Today I'm really conflicted, hahaha. Early this morning I wanted to go an torture myself going to the bookstore (and I say torture because here the books are so expensive it's really difficult to buy one, it's easier to order them but then I have to wait at least a week...) and I saw a pack, a whole pack of one of the series I'm dying to have and it was way to expensive... but I want them so badly!!! Sigh...
A Game of Thrones
by George R. R. Martin
Official Blurb:
Long ago, in a time forgotten, a preternatural event threw the seasons out of balance. In a land where summers can last decades and winters a lifetime, trouble is brewing. The cold is returning, and in the frozen wastes to the north of Winterfell, sinister and supernatural forces are massing beyond the kingdom’s protective Wall. At the center of the conflict lie the Starks of Winterfell, a family as harsh and unyielding as the land they were born to. Sweeping from a land of brutal cold to a distant summertime kingdom of epicurean plenty, here is a tale of lords and ladies, soldiers and sorcerers, assassins and bastards, who come together in a time of grim omens.
Here an enigmatic band of warriors bear swords of no human metal; a tribe of fierce wildlings carry men off into madness; a cruel young dragon prince barters his sister to win back his throne; and a determined woman undertakes the most treacherous of journeys. Amid plots and counterplots, tragedy and betrayal, victory and terror, the fate of the Starks, their allies, and their enemies hangs perilously in the balance, as each endeavors to win that deadliest of conflicts: the game of thrones.

ReplyDeleteWhat I really want:
Circle of Fire by Michelle Zink, the last book in the prophecy of the sisters
I would like to read a Game of Thrones since watching the show but its just too big, it actually scares me to look at it! hah
ReplyDeleteI hope you get your books soon!!
This week's wish is inspired by a book I finished while in the mountains. Please come see which book I'm wishing for.
ReplyDeleteOh, I LOVE your picks!! The first one belongs to the series "A Song of Ice and Fire", and I want the entire set!!! The second one I've never heard of, but the plot sounds so funny! The impression I get is that there will be a whole sequence of misunderstandings and escapades! And, of course, they will both live happily ever after!! Perfect for my romantic soul...sigh...
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!! : )
