Interview: Charlotte Blackwell author of the Embrace series

Interview with Charlotte Blackwell
 Author of: Embrace Series

Alaiel: Before anything else, thanks for the interview. I’m really happy for being able to participate in your blog tour and have the chance to talk about “Immortal Embrace” and “Forbidden Embrace”.
Charlotte: Thank you so much for having me here. I am so excited to share my books with you and your readers.

Questions about yourself.-

Alaiel: Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Charlotte: I am a wife and mother to 3 and began writing about 3 years ago. I feel so blessed to be doing something that I love and have the opportunity to share it with others as well. My eldest daughter is homeschool and most of the time I feel like a taxi driver to my kids, but I love that too. I really want them to have every opportunity to find what they love to do. I am also a HUGE believer in the laws of attraction and helping others.

Alaiel: What is one your favorite book? Why?
Charlotte: I don’t really have a fave book, but a fave series. The Grant Brother Series by new author Kathi S. Barton is an Adult romance and I love it so much. The series follows 6 brothers through trials and tribulations in the search for love and happiness. It is a very real series and the issues her characters go through are very real and possible.

Alaiel: Where is your favorite place to write?
Charlotte: I do almost all my writing in my bedroom, it is quite and my own personal space. Everything I need is there.

Alaiel: When you are blocked what do you do?
Charlotte: Sometimes I talk it out with other writers try to get the flow going again. Other times I try to work on another Project, removing myself from the issue where I am blocked can get the creative juices flowing again.

Alaiel: Is there some kind of ritual that you need to do to write? Like listening a special playlist or have your favorite drink with you.
Charlotte: Not at all, I do like to have the TV going or sometimes just the radio, but there is nothing specific that I do.

Questions about the book.-

Alaiel: Do you write down the entire plot of the story before turning it into books?
Charlotte: When I get an idea I hust go with it. If research is needed I do all that and sometimes take notes, but for the most part I just write.

Alaiel: Is Sophia based in a particular person? Maybe her personality resembles a little bit of youself when you were younger?
Charlotte: Sophia is a combination of me and my daughter (who is a lot like me). Sophia’s personality is very introverted which is exactly what I was as a teen. Trust is very hard for her and she needs to learn to let others into her life. Something that took me a while to learn.

Alaiel: Which of your characters do you feel you relate to the most and why?
Charlotte: Sophia when I was younger, more so Ebony know. Ebony is kinda a loner, but a very strong girl who won’t take any crap.

Alaiel: What is one of your favorite scenes of the book?
Charlotte: I think I change my answer to this question everytime I’m asked (haha). I love Nate and Sophia kissing in the school’s court yard after she agrees to go to Winter formal with him. It is sweet, romantic, and you can sense her shyness and his goofyness all at once.

Alaiel: How would you describe in 5 words “Immortal Embrace” and “Forbidden Embrace”?
Charlotte: Vampire, Witches, Magick, Teens, and Discovery

Alaiel: How many books is this series going to have?
Charlotte: There’s 3 right now, but I am about to start a fourth and have plans for a companion book too. I love long series, so it may go one for a while. I guess I will keep writing it until the story is finished.

Random and quick questions.-

Alaiel: Hardbacks or paperbacks?
Charlotte: Hardback.

Alaiel: Autumm or spring?
Charlotte: Spring.

Alaiel: Do you like e-readers?
Charlotte: Love them.

Alaiel: What book are you most looking forward to reading?
Charlotte: Crossroads by Mary Ting.

Alaiel: Favorite food?
Charlotte: Pepperoni, mushroom and pineapple pizza with extra cheese. (Dang, now I want some).

Alaiel: Do you like cheese? If the answer is yes, what kind of cheese do you like?
Charlotte: Very much so, I eat cheese on everything. Pretty much any kind of cheese, except blue cheese... yuck! I love bree, gouda, marble and so on and on :D

Alaiel: Thanks a lot for your time, Charlotte! I can’t wait to see what happens in the third book :D
