Official Blurb:

In this stunning sequel to the highly acclaimed "Daughter of Smoke and Bone," Karou must come to terms with who and what she is, and how far she'll go to avenge her people. Filled with heartbreak and beauty, mysteries and secrets, new characters and old favorites, Days of Blood and Starlight brings the richness, color and intensity of the first book to a brand new canvas.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone was declared a "must read" by Entertainment Weekly, was named a Best Book of the Year by Amazon.com, and The New York Times called it "a breath-catching romantic fantasy."

Maybe I'm not a big fan of the US cover of the first book, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, which is why I bought the UK edition (and the German edition too, just because the cover is to die for, hehe).
But without doubt, I'm in love with THIS cover. It surpasses everything I could have expected. They kept the black and white background and in addition this time the color red does an amazing job with her make up.
The font of the title is still the same for which I'm grateful because it's really pretty too. And the title... Oh, I know the title has been announced a long time ago but still, I'm dying to now what it stands for!

So what do you think guys? Do yo like it? I sure do, now the UK has to do a really amazing job trying to beat this one.

And in case you wonder, this is the German cover:

  1. :o You and I are in the same mine when it comes to not like the US cover for the first book (I ordered the gorgeous UK cover) and I am really loving this one o.o. If the UK cover is also gorgeous I might have to get both copies but I am worried about the UK cover because the publisher changed the design for the first book on the paperback release and I did not like it so if the second book matches the paperback I will indeed just get the US edition.

Also the title reminds me of the "origin" story Karou told Akiva of how the Chimera and Seraphim were created and why they were enemies so it looks like we're getting deeper into the war perhaps or learning more about how the war began.

  2. @Sandy: Ohhhh!!! After reading your comment I had to look for the UK cover of the paperback edition and... yeah, nope, I don't really like it. I understand what they are trying to portray but... it's too simple. At least for me.

And you are such a genius!!! You must be right about the title! Ohhh, I would love to learn a lot more about the creation of both species...

Thanks for commenting :] You helped me a lot.
