Summary from Goodreads:

The Conduit is a mystical, YA fantasy tale involving an ancient Irish myth, four special humans with superhuman powers and an evil demon that can morph into any animal including a fire-breathing dragon.

Not only is The Conduit of the caliber of the Twilight Series with a teenage love story, it has a sense of humor and characters that come to life on the pages. Here is what one reviewer said:

“Stacey Rourke approaches the superhero story with a nice dose of humor. Her main character, Celeste, shows us from the beginning that the idea of being responsible for saving the world isn’t exactly top on her wish list. In the opening pages of The Conduit Rourke demonstrates Celeste’s reluctance and prepares the reader for a journey that promises to entertain.”

Review By Alaiel Kreuz:

Once again I'm really happy for not judging a book by its cover. The book was entertaining, funny, clever and well developed.

Celeste and her brothers, Gabe and Kendall, are moving to their grandmother's house until their mom gets a new place for all of them. The reason? There had been a lot of break-ins in their last neighborhood.
Soon their lovely grandma makes clear that she is not going to be a housemade therefor everyone will take care of one chore in the house.
I'm glad to say that their Grandma was a strong character in this book, it's really rare for things like this to happen and I found myself smiling every time she was in a scene.

But something weird is going on in this town... there are bugs the size of a fist and there had been a series of complaints about a panther being spotted around the houses.
And then this new reporter, Alec, was always near when Celeste needed help.

Soon Celeste meets Alaina who was not only their guardian but also a mystical creature who could go from being an eagle to being a gorgeous woman with feathery hair. And she explains everything: The kids ancestors made a pact with a Gryphon to whom they sworn eternal loyalty and now they are forced to fight for him and protect his powers from falling into the wrong hands.

Which explains why Celeste suddenly was able to empath with everyone, why Gabe was stronger than Hulk and why Kendall was able to fly.
But where they willing to put their own life at risk for an ancient pact?

Personal opinion:
I liked it a lot. In fact, when I reached the last page I was hoping that more pages would magically appear and continue the story because, let me tell you something, the ending was so so heartbreakingly good! I seriously had a huge smile when, after reading Stacey's answers for my interview, I discovered that the second part is coming out soon :D
In case you are curious, my interview is HERE.

So yes, pick up this book and enjoy it. There's everything to like here: the characters are funny and clever, the situations are hilarious, the fights are well explained and the bonds between the characters feel real.
Trust me, you will find yourself smiling all the way long until the end. Give it a try :)
