Betrayal, deceit, and murder are unavoidable in Uriel, Book 3 of the Airel saga.

Gorgeous cover!!! This is actually the third book in The Airel Saga and is, I think, the most beautiful one. But don't get me wrong, the other two have nothing to envy as you can see below:

I've been thinking about reading the books and the cover for Uriel finally made me add them to my wishlist! The girl in it exudes so much power and looks so fearless that intrigues me a lot.

This is being one of the most amazing weeks with so many pretty covers that I feel like Christmas, hahaha.

Thanks to Ashley @ The Bookish Brunette for making me part of the cover reveal :D

I'm not even going to try to keep up with all the new covers anymore xD But I just HAD to share this one... What can I say? The cover looks fantastic and the blurb is just too good.

I haven't read any book by Nova Ren Suma yet but that's is going to change with this one... I seriously can't wait to read it and I hope it is as good as it sounds. I can already feel the urge rising within me... How much would I love an ARC of this book!

Cover reveal: Rise

Rise
by Andrea Cremer
Release Date: January, 2013

Official Blurb:

No blurb yet.

It's almost impossible to keep track of all the beauties being showed this week but I'm doing my best :D

This time is the turn for Rise, the sequel of Rift, the new series by Andrea Cremer author of Nightshade. This series is actually a prequel so if you are a fan of Nightshade I'm sure you will want to read this one too.
(Actually I have the whole series but I don't have the time to read it yet -although I'm dying to, sigh. Any opinions about it?)

As for the cover it doesn't actually "says" much bout the book or the plot but it's pretty and follows the previous cover's designs.

Another book added to my wishlist. And you beautiful people, are you going to add it too?

Cover reveal: The Shadow Society

Shadow Society
by Marie Rutkoski
Release Date: 30th October, 2012

Official Blurb:

Darcy Jones doesn't remember anything before the day she was abandoned as a child outside a Chicago firehouse. So she isn't surprised that she doesn't recognize Conn, the new boy at her high school, even though he seems to know her—or at least know something about her.

What does surprise her is how quickly she comes to trust Conn, and that he makes her feel both desire and desired in a way she hadn't thought possible. But his interest in her is confusing. It doesn't line up with the way he first looked at her.

As if she was his enemy.

When Conn betrays Darcy and she is arrested, she realizes that she can't rely on anything—not Conn, not herself, and not even the laws of nature. Because this world isn't the only one. Darcy belongs in an alternate world where the Great Chicago Fire never happened, and deadly creatures called Shades terrorize the human population.

Darcy needs some answers.

And she hates that the person most able to help her get them is Conn.

True to be told I just added this book to my wishlist xD But after reading that synopsis how couldn't I?! It sounds really intriguing and alluring!

Character Interview + Giveaway: Thomas from The White Swan Affair

As part of his blog tour I can honestly say I'm thrilled to introduce you all to Thomas, male main character of "The White Swan Affair".

Interview with Thomas
Main character of: The White Swan Affair

Alaiel: Thanks a lot for stopping by my blog, Thomas! It’s a pleasure to have you here.
Thomas: Thank you, Miss Alaiel. I am delighted to visit with you today.

Alaiel: As an adventurer in love with the sea, what caused you to own property in any city and why London?
Thomas: While I would always rather be on the deck of my ship or exploring a far off port, London is the greatest city in the world. My partner, Edward Hannay and I decided to locate our warehouses here because it allowed us the greatest scope. We have always wanted to make a success of our company and without false modesty, I believe I may say that we have done so admirably.

And I don’t dislike London as much as I dislike the restrictions I face on dry land. Society’s constraints don’t sit well with me. I’ve never been one for doing the pretty. Too blunt. Too fond of speaking the truth. (laughs) It makes me a far from ideal dinner guest, I’m afraid.

Alaiel: How long had Robert Aspinall and his sister been your lodgers before you first took notice of Hester?
Thomas: I noticed Hester the very first day we met. It is not very gentlemanly of me to admit it, of course, but even dressed in mourning, she caught my eye. She is a very beautiful woman. Of course, I often went months at a time without the privelege of meeting with her. My business often sees me abroad but whenever I was in High Holborne, I hoped to see her. Perhaps that explains my sudden fondness for that corner of the metrópolis?

Alaiel: What was it about Hester that drew you to her?
Thomas: There are many things I love about her. I was first drawn to her by her gentle manners.

Alaiel: Do you have any qualms about engaging romantically with any woman, given that you aren’t the sort of man to settle down in the traditional sense?
Thomas: Of course I had qualms. No right thinking woman wants a man like me for a husband. Never in the same country from one month to the next, always setting out on another sea voyage. That was enough to prevent me from seriously considering matrimony for years. But sharing my life with Hester, I have come to realize that I am not settling. Adventure will still be mine, only now I will share it with the woman I love.

Alaiel: What were your first thoughts when you found out about the trouble Hester’s brother Robert had gotten into?
Thomas: I sympathized with Robert’s plight. I know there are many who condemn sodomites. Who think them unnatural or perverse but if there is one thing I have learned in my travels, there are few absolutes in this world and that despite what my uncle the bishop may claim, an observant Mohamadan has as strong, or stronger a claim, to virtue than most Englishmen. We all have secret desires, things about ourselves that others would decry. My own behaviour with Hester – the secret longing I held for her for so long – was something I was deeply ashamed of. Who am I to say then that my sin is less, merely for the fact that I love a woman and not a man?

Every one who is accused of a crime ought to have a proper and well-argued defense at a trial that lasts longer than eight minutes. I know that our system of justice is lauded as superior to that of the Continent but when I see children of seven and eight, being tried for capital crimes or people transported for seven years for stealing a used shift worth 4 shillings, I have my doubts.

And we have the cover!!! Do you like it? Because I sure do but... I think I still prefer the cover of the hardback edition with the girl and glass breaking behind her, you know? It had a feeling of power that I loved a lot.
I understand that they have done this one to match the new paperback cover for Shatter Me but still, I feel like I'm being watched xD

What if your life wasn't your own?

Liv comes out of a coma with no memory of her past and two distinct, warring voices inside her head. Nothing, not even her reflection, seems familiar. As she stumbles through her junior year, the voices get louder, insisting she please the popular group while simultaneously despising them. But when Liv starts hanging around with Spencer, whose own mysterious past also has him on the fringe, life feels complete for the first time in, well, as long as she can remember.

Liv knows the details of the car accident that put her in the coma, but as the voices invade her dreams, and her dreams start feeling like memories, she and Spencer seek out answers. Yet the deeper they dig, the less things make sense. Can Liv rebuild the pieces of her broken past, when it means questioning not just who she is, but what she is?

And here is a little something to help you understand and like the book a little already:
All the Broken Pieces (premise)

Honestly I don't love the cover but I think it suits the premise of the book really well and it makes sense. And that's a huge point when you think about all those beautiful covers that have nothing to do with the book ^^U

And the plot sounds very intriguing and very interesting so yeah, I'm adding this one to my wishlist, hehe. I'm glad I got to participate in the cover reveal :]

Book Review: Obsidian

Obsidian

by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Series: Lux #1
Release date: 6th December, 2011
Publisher: Entangled Publishing
Pages: 335 (paperback copy bought by me)

Summary from Goodreads:

Starting over sucks.
When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don't kill him first, that is.

I can't believe that Harlequin actually created a cover more gorgeous than the first Soul Screamers Vol.1 cover... but they did!

I love everything about it, her dress, the contrast with the white background, her hair and her lips are amazing (yes, I pay attention to those details too xD).

Gorgeous, enticing, beautiful and flawless. This beauty is going to be in my collection too!

In order to participate in the special edition every feature has to "host" another blog. And add a giveaway :]

So, the blog I'm choosing today is... Tales of the Inner Book Fanatic

Since I'm doing this as a surprise (because, you know, Erin comments in a lot of my posts and that makes me smile a lot^^) this is going to be short (but full of info).

Cover reveal: Foretold

Foretold
by Jana Oliver
Release Date: 2nd August, 2012
Series: The Demon Trappers #4

Official Blurb:

Stand by as Riley prepares to kick some serious demon butt for the last time in this thrilling, dramatic and sexy conclusion to The Demon Trappers series.

Riley’s always known that Beck had a chequered history, but she’s not prepared for what it actually means to be in love with a guy with this many dark secrets. Now that he’s finally admitted to himself that he’s in love with her too, there’s no more hiding the truth about his past. And as it turns out, fending off a demon apocalypse is nothing compared to what’s to come...

The UK cover has been out for a while already but since I buy the US editions and especially since the cover is absolutely wicked and I'm in love with it I had to share it with you all.

But I have to be honest, I haven't read the series yet ^^U I have the books already with me and every day they look at me with these puppy eyes that make my heart melt (drama queen, I know) but there are so many books that I'm seriously considering to write down a complain so we can get longer days...

Anywho, tell me your thoughts about this wonderful cover :]

My Blog's 1 year Blogoversary!!!

Can you believe it? Because I sure can't. Honestly. For the last two months I've been thinking, non-stop: "You have to remember to check the date of your first post, it's important. Do NOT forget it". And then I did... every single day. Go figure ¬¬

But then again, that's just like me xD So, my "real" blogoversary was the 4th of June which means it was three days ago. And that means that my little mouse can say something like this...

And, from the bottom of our hearts we have to thank YOU for being there, for your comments, your tweets, your thoughts and your prayers whenever I asked for them.

When I began I wasn't sure what was going to happen, maybe my blog would last 3 months, maybe 7 months or maybe I would give up pretty quickly. You see, the blogosphere was (and sometimes it still is) completely new to me. One day, thanks to a dear friend, I found wonderful blogs full of pictures, full of energy, full of amazing reviews written with amazing words... and then I got to "meet" some of you through Twitter and it was AWESOME.

After a few months I thought "I want to be an active part of this... I want to be a small part of something so big, so cool and wicked". Which is when I began to create my blog, thinking about a name for it, a picture, a way to offer my reviews in a neat and different way. That's how my "Review/Library" tap saw the light. From there you can scroll and see the covers of all the books I've reviewed.

Still, I had to learn a lot of things, like how to write in HTML, how to use GIMP to edit pictures and create different things, how to improve my English in order to write better reviews, how to use Twitter... you know, that sweet frenemy we all have (at least I do xD) and I still need to learn more about it, sigh. And then how to market my blog using all the tools out there which, let me tell you, wasn't easy.

But I managed to do it and is not looking bad ;)

- GFC: 1499.
- Linky Followers: 147.
- Twitter Followers: 1191
- E-mail and RSS: 1462
- FB Page (fairly new): 40
- Friends around the blogosphere: All of you.

It might sound cliche but sometimes I feel like Cinderella (minus the whole horrible stepmother and ugly sisters, thank goodness!), you know?

I never though I would find a HUGE community of book lovers and somehow always assumed that my love for books was seeing as weird for everybody else around me (except for you, Nathiel) but still, the majority of my friends never picked a book up if not for school... and then there was me, using all my money to buy more books and more mangas.

If I had to express my feelings towards books I think this pic could say it all:

When I think of books I think of dreams, of adventures, of magic, of fantasy, of love, of hate, of nightmares, of hope and despair, loyalty and war, knight in white armor and assassins hiding in the shadows, of friends and foes.
And my imagination keeps flying, always going higher and higher.

But without you we wouldn't be here. And lucky you we like to share the happiness whenever we can :] Because, you know, we are cool like that.

So here is what I have for you, amazing reader, wonderful commenter, dear friend:

Two (2) winners will get the chance to get each $50 in books from The Book Depository! And if by the end of the giveaway I can I'll add one more winner :D

All you have to do, as always, is fill the rafflecopter form and that's it. And if have read the whole post without skipping to the giveaway a HUGE hug for you ;)

Have fun and may the odds be in your favor!

Cover reveal: Shadows in the Silence

Shadows in the Silence
by Courtney Allison Moulton
Release Date: January, 2013
Series: Angelfire #3

Official Blurb:

There's no official blurb yet.

Sadly there's no blurb yet but at least we have the cover, right? Since I haven't read this series yet -but it's waiting for me alongside all the other wonderful books I HAVE to read soon- I'm kind of glad there's no blurb, hehe.

But there's one thing I can say: I love it! I love all the covers of the Angelfire series, specially the second book Wings of the Wicked, and this one sure has won a spot in my heart.

Sneak Peek: The Lost Prince

The Lost Prince
by Julie Kagawa
Release Date: 23rd October, 2012
Series: The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten #1

Official Blurb:

Don't look at Them. Never let Them know you can see Them.

That is Ethan Chase's unbreakable rule. Until the fey he avoids at all costs—including his reputation—begin to disappear, and Ethan is attacked. Now he must change the rules to protect his family. To save a girl he never thought he's dare to fall for.

Ethan thought he had protected himself from his older sister's world—the land of Faery. His previous time in the Iron Realm left him with nothing but fear and disgust for the world Meghan Chase has made her home, a land of myths and talking cats, of magic and seductive enemies. But when destiny comes for Ethan, there is no escape from a danger long, long forgotten.

My name is Ethan Chase. And I may not live to see my eighteenth birthday.

And finally we have a blurb!!! Oh my, I've been dying to know what this series would be about and although there's not to much information it does sound like a very interesting spin-off of The Iron Fey.

I know the cover has been out for quite a while but just allow me to say, again, how much I LOVE it. The model, which I assume is Ethan, besides being very handsome is also very alluring, the background with the dark forest is enticing and as always the design, the shadows and the font make a marvelous job.

Can't wait to buy it and read it ASAP!
