May TBR Reading Challenge Wrap Up Post

Since I've been kind of out the last months I didn't write wrap up posts in February, March and April so I'm going to do it quickly, ok?

February:
- Tempest Rising (review)
- My Soul to Take (review)

March
- My Soul to Save (review)

April
- My Soul to Keep (review)
- Reaper (review)
- Divergent (review)

May
- My Soul to Steal (review)
- If I Die (review)
- The Girl in the Steel Corset (review)

As for the mini challenge the only cover I can remember right now that I used to hate is:

What did I dislike? Absolutely everything: the colors, the picture of the guy, his little and short hairs (that are supposed to be one day a mustache) and the font. So yeah, everything.
But the story was good so I didn't care... much.

Gladly for me (and a few others) the author changed the cover for this one:

Which yes, I like a lot. And this cover says much more than than old one :D

This week my WoW is about a book that sounds fun and intriguing. If you haven't heard of it just look at the cover, read the summary and tell me what you think of it:

Name: Death and the Girl Next Door
Author: Darynda Jones
Release Date: 2nd October, 2012

Official blurb:
Ten years ago, Lorelei's parents disappeared without a trace. Raised by her grandparents and leaning on the support of her best friends, Lorelei is finally beginning to accept the fact that her parents are never coming home. For Lorelei, life goes on.

High school is not quite as painful as she thinks it will be, and things are as normal as they can be. Until the day the school's designated loner, Cameron Lusk, begins to stalk her, turning up where she least expects it, standing outside her house in the dark, night after night. Things get even more complicated when a new guy—terrifying, tough, sexy Jared Kovach—comes to school. Cameron and Jared instantly despise each other and Lorelei seems to be the reason for their animosity. What does Jared know about her parents? Why does Cameron tell Jared he can't have Lorelei? And what will any of them do when Death comes knocking for real?

Thrilling, sassy, sexy, and inventive, Darynda Jones's first foray into the world of teens will leave readers eager for the next installment.

Have you read other books by Darynda Jones? Because I haven't but I'm about to start with her Charley Davidson series very soon.

Also, let me know what's your WoW so I can add more books to my wishlist, hehe.

Hugs!

Oh for the love of me... how could I not know about this?! I just found out about this cover and I'm sure my eyes almost popped out of my sockets.
But forget my jokes and lets talk about this cover... I mean, seriously?! Covers like this one should be prohibited, specially for women with a weak heart... Thank goodness that's not me because I couldn't stop looking at it.

Miss Burton, I can honestly say that the models for your Play by Play series are breathtaking. Nicely done once again. I can't wait to add this beauty to my collection!

Cover reveal: Days of Blood and Starlight

Days of Blood and Starlight
by Laini Taylor
Release Date: 6th November, 2012
Publisher: Little, Brown & Company
Series: Daughter of Smoke and Bone #2

Official Blurb:

In this stunning sequel to the highly acclaimed "Daughter of Smoke and Bone," Karou must come to terms with who and what she is, and how far she'll go to avenge her people. Filled with heartbreak and beauty, mysteries and secrets, new characters and old favorites, Days of Blood and Starlight brings the richness, color and intensity of the first book to a brand new canvas.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone was declared a "must read" by Entertainment Weekly, was named a Best Book of the Year by Amazon.com, and The New York Times called it "a breath-catching romantic fantasy."

Maybe I'm not a big fan of the US cover of the first book, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, which is why I bought the UK edition (and the German edition too, just because the cover is to die for, hehe).
But without doubt, I'm in love with THIS cover. It surpasses everything I could have expected. They kept the black and white background and in addition this time the color red does an amazing job with her make up.
The font of the title is still the same for which I'm grateful because it's really pretty too. And the title... Oh, I know the title has been announced a long time ago but still, I'm dying to now what it stands for!

So what do you think guys? Do yo like it? I sure do, now the UK has to do a really amazing job trying to beat this one.

And in case you wonder, this is the German cover:

Behold the King's Favorites!!!

I've been thinking, for a long while, how to create a new addition to my rating system. Since my blog's name is Librarian Mouse my rating is a system of cheeses, one cheese for NTRE (not-to-read-ever) which fortunately I haven't use yet (and I'm keeping my fingers crossed!) to five cheeses if the book was TDF (to-die-for).

But we, book lovers, know that sometimes we find books that are beyond amazing, beyond awesomeness, beyond epicness... So I thought "How am I going to do justice to such an amazing/breathtaking/OMG/epic book?!"
A five cheese rating seamed unfair. And six cheeses was too much cheese... I don't want you to feel sick just by looking at so many cheeses! So then I thought: "Hum... maybe a cool cheese would do the trick. Superhero cheese? Ninja cheese? King cheese?"

None of them felt special enough... Not that I don't like my cheese rating but come on, can you picture a cheese as a superhero?! Because I can't. And as a king, holding a scepter and wearing a cloak, is just hilarious. And these special books have to be taken seriously.

And then yesterday, inspiration came: Why does it have to be a cheese?! Why not a mouse?! A Mouse! After that all I had to do was work and create my new rating. So here you go:

And to commemorate here is a list of the books that deserve the love of my little mouse:

- Watched by Sharde Richardson.
- The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa.
- Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins.
- Delirium by Lauren Oliver.
- Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi.
- Incarnate by Jodi Meadows.
- Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor.
- So Silver Bright by Lisa Mantchev.
- Divergent by Veronica Roth.
- If I Die by Rachel Vincent.

Hope you enjoy them all ^_^

Book Review: Body & Soul

Body & Soul

by Stacey Kade
Series: The Ghost and the Goth #3
Release date: 1st May, 2012
Publisher: Hyperion
Pages: 320 (hardback copy bought by me)

Summary from Goodreads:

The Ghost
I’ve been trapped in the body of Lily “Ally” Turner for a month now. Talk about a fashion crisis on an epic scale. What worries me more, though, is sometimes I catch Will looking at me like he thinks I’m Lily...or that he wishes I were. Without the good looks of my former self, I don’t know who I am, or if who that is is good enough. I need out of this mess. Now.

Will and I have been looking for a solution, one that would separate me from Lily without killing her. But it’s not going well. Then, when it seems like things couldn’t get any worse, we run into Misty, my former best friend and boyfriend-stealer extraordinaire, who claims she’s being haunted...by me. Seriously?

I’m determined to get to the bottom of who’s pretending to be the spirit of Alona Dare (while I’m pretending to be someone else) and then get the heck out of this body. Or die trying...

The Goth
I’ll admit it. It’s really weird to look at Alona but see Lily. I do know the difference, though, contrary to what Alona might be saying. And Alona is more than a pretty face to me, not that she would believe that.

Our one lead for some help in this messed up situation might be a page torn from the yellow pages-—the “Psychics” section-—I found in my dad’s stuff. One of the “fakes” seems a bit more real-—and odd-—than the others. Before I can investigate further, though, Alona is off and chasing a ghost that’s probably nothing more than a figment of Misty’s guilty imagination. Now Lily’s family is freaking out because she didn’t come home, my mom is ordering me to stay out of it, and something is definitely wrong with the person formerly known as Lily “Ally” Turner...

Have I missed something interesting in the way? If so, please, I'm begging you, let me know xD I hate to feel that there has been a lot going on these past months and I don't know anything about it, sigh...

So far all of these beauties are in my Wishlist already, now I only have to wait (like that's easy) for the days to pass quickly.

And... I'm back!

Hello beautiful people!

You have no idea how much I've missed you all, seriously. It's been two months since I announced that, due to some family problems, I had to step away from my blog and, in those two months, I barely wrote 4 or 5 posts and some tweets.

But I did try to help promote #TeamDauntless. Though, to be honest, I'm not sure which faction won yet... do you guys have any idea?

Anywho, now that I'm back home (actually I came back a week ago but I needed to attend my husband and doggie) I can promise to write more reviews, participate in more memes and do some catch up.
